Many journals now request that authors disclose the use of AI assistance to maintain transparency and integrity in the publication process. To check whether your journal requires it, you can look up their author guidelines or contact them for information. Please follow all the journal’s requirements and make sure you use the format they recommend.
If the journal hasn't specified their policy on the use of AI but you still wish to make a disclosure, you can do so in your own words, perhaps in the cover letter accompanying your submission. In general, your disclosure should cover (1) how AI was used (e.g. data extraction, analyses, polishing text, others) and (2) a declaration that all AI outputs have been verified by the author(s).
In addition, you may also mention the names of the tools used.
